The label inside the F hole has an Atlas emblem and model number AC-2, a penciled serial number, and Atlas Musical instrument 319 West John Street, Hicksville, Long Island, NY. I have seen this label on acoustics, but on nothing of this quality. Download from peekvids. Apr 04, 2008 Hoshino also made top-notch Greco guitars and a few other brands and had an excellent reputation as one of Japan's best guitar manufacturers, along with Matsumoku and Fuji-Gen Gakki. Penco's were/are great bang-for-your-buck guitars.

Anybody remember these?
The first 2 numbers of the serial are 76 (forgot the rest) so I assume it's from 76?
Picked this up off Craigslist for $50 with the case and an old 'Ace' strap.
It had been sitting for years with just 2 strings on it, so I polished the frets, strung it up, adjusted the action, intonation, etc and it actually sounds VERY good.
Tone pots were a bit scratchy so I hit them with some cleaner and everything works perfectly.
Anybody have any more info on Penco guitars?
